Safeguarding and Wellbeing

At Mortons Driving School of Excellence, the safety and wellbeing of every child, young person, and vulnerable adult is the responsibility of everyone who works with or for Mortons. Our learners are our highest priority. We are committed to zero tolerance of abuse in any form, and to creating a learning environment where every person feels safe, respected and heard.

  • Mortons is committed to:

    • Compliance with all 10 Child Safe Standards under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld), effective from 1 April 2026

    • Compliance with the NDIS Code of Conduct (8 elements) for all workers delivering services to NDIS participants

    • Cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and learners — upholding the Universal Principle across all our practices

    • Safeguarding every person with disability who learns with Mortons, regardless of how their supports are funded

    • A safe, in-vehicle environment where learners know they can stop a lesson at any time without consequence

    • Transparent, confidential, and prompt responses to all concerns and complaints

  • Every Mortons learner has the right to:

    • Be treated with dignity and respect at all times

    • Raise a concern or complaint without fear of being penalised or treated differently

    • Have their concern taken seriously and responded to promptly and confidentially

    • Access an interpreter, translator, or support person

    • Contact an external body at any time, including the QFCC, NDIS Commission, or Queensland Police
